Odds on Croatia to win Euro 2024

What are the odds for Croatia to make the Euro 2024 semi-finals?

The European Championships are just around the corner and Croatia will be hoping to make it out of the Group of Death and deep into the knockouts. But what are the odds for Croatia to make the semi-finals of Euro 2024?

Croatia have a history of impressing at major tournaments, especially in recent years, but how far can they go in Germany this summer? Although Croatia played unofficially in the early-to-mid 1900s, they didn’t officially become a team until the 1990s. After Croatia succeeded from Yugoslavia, the national side first entered the world rankings in 1994. By 1998, they were ranked as the third-best team in the world.

Croatia have never won a major tournament, but did finish as runners-up at the 2018 World Cup, where Luka Modric also won the Golden Ball award as Player of the Tournament. In the European Championships, Croatia have never made a semi-final, reaching the quarters twice in 1996 and 2008. They also finished as runners-up in the 2023 Nations League. But can they make history and reach the Euros semis for the first time ever this summer at 7.50 odds? What are the chances for Croatia to win Euro 2024?

Croatia come into the tournament in good form over the past year, having gone unbeaten in their last four matches against Egypt, Tunisia, Armenia, and Latvia. The last time they lost was a 2-1 defeat to Wales in October 2023. However, the Croatians face a big problem this summer in Germany – they have been placed into Group B, which many are referring to as the Group of Death. If Croatia are to make it out of the group stages, they are going to have to compete against the likes of Spain and Italy to do so. Spain are building a pretty special team at the moment and Italy arrive in Germany as the defending European champions.

Croatia are currently ranked as the tenth-best team in the world. To be fair to the Croatians, this is only one rank below Italy and two ranks below Spain, so there is no reason why they can’t cause a small upset and make it out of the group. Croatia still have some absolute superstars in their team, after all, none more so than Real Madrid’s midfield maestro, Luka Modric. Modric may be coming to the end of his career, but the 38-year-old still regularly turns out for Los Blancos so there is no reason he can’t run the show for Croatia at the Euros. Ivan Perisic has also just returned from injury in time for the tournament, while Manchester City duo Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic will be key to the Croatian spine.

While Croatia would be extreme outsiders to win Euro 2024, such a story is not beyond all realms of possibility. You can get odds of 40.00 for Croatia to go all the way. Alternatively, they have odds of 7.50 to make the semi-finals or 3.50 to make the quarter-finals.
