Odds on France to win Euro 2024

What are the odds for France to win Euro 2024?

The European Championships are just around the corner and France head into the tournament as one of the favourites to lift the trophy. But what are the odds for France to win Euro 2024?

France are one of the most successful countries in international football history. Founded in 1904, Les Bleus have won two World Cups, two European Championships, two Confederations Cups, one Olympic Games, and a Nations League title.

Didier Deschamps is one of just three men to have won the World Cup as both player and manager, with France being the current world champions. However, France have not won the Euros since 2000 so will be looking to end a 24-year wait this summer in Germany.

Les Bleus made it to the final of the Euro 2016 final but were defeated by underdogs Portugal, with Cristiano Ronaldo sidelined through injury. They come into Euro 2024 as second-favourites to win the tournament with odds of 4.50, behind only England at 4.25. What are the chances for France to win Euro 2024?

France have been placed into a tough group for Euro 2024 alongside the Netherlands, Poland and Austria, any of whom have the talent to cause an upset. That being said, you would back Dechamps’ men to make it out of Group D with ease.

Although France managed to beat Gibraltar 14-0 back in November 2023, they have been in some up-and-down form ever since. A 2-2 draw away to Greece, a 2-0 defeat to Germany and a narrow 3-2 win over Chile leads them into the European Championships this summer.

France will be looking to cement this as the era of Les Bleus when they take to the field in Germany. Having made the Euro 2016 final, won the 2018 World Cup and then finished runners-up to Argentina in 2022, France have been a fixture in international finals for the last eight years. That being said, they currently only have one actual win to their name during that time. A European Championship this summer would elevate them to the next level and give them a chance to match the kind of dominance shown by Spain between 2008 and 2012.

Les Bleus certainly have the squad to pull off a win in Germany. Look no further than captain Kylian Mbappe leading the line off the back of another incredibly potent season with Paris-Saint Germain. The pacy superstar also looks set to join Real Madrid this summer and would love to do so as a reigning European champion.

While England are bookies favourites to lift Euro 2024, some may tip France ahead of the Three Lions as this squad has already been there and done it at a major tournament. Where England lack depth in central defence, France also have an embarrassment of riches, with Raphael Varane, William Saliba, Ibrahima Konate, Presnel Kimpembe, Dayot Upamecano and more all vying for just two spots.

As such, many could look to France’s odds of 5.20 as too good an opportunity to miss.
